Yuji Itadori is an incredibly powerful individual, and one that fans know has gone from strength to strength over the years and will continue to do so in the remainder of Jujutsu Kaisen as well. Yuji has gone from being an ordinary boy with no talent for sorcery, to an extremely powerful individual who has gone on to redefine Jujutsu sorcerery completely, and acquired enough skill to rival even the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.

Fans have seen Yuji progress in front of their eyes in JJK's Shinjuku Showdown arc, and this part of the story has been especially great for him. This is simply down to the fact that Yuji Itadori is the protagonist, and at the same time, a genius of sorts, when it comes to combat. Recently, Yuji took things a level beyond when he unlocked his Domain Expansion, but many things about his powerful domain still remain questionable, despite the series wrapping up in around four more chapters.

Yuji Itadori gained access to his domain expansion during his fight against Ryomen Sukuna. Given that fans knew that Shinjuku Showdown would be the last arc of the series, especially because Gege mentioned previously that he wanted to end his story in 2024, fans knew that Yuji had a big weight on his shoulders. He had to deliver in this arc, because after this, there would be no more chance for him to shine. Yuji is already among the most underwhelming protagonists of any popular shonen series, and the author certainly had to redeem him in more ways than one. In fact, the sentiment is shared by the author as well, and he previously stated how he felt that he failed to make Yuji a very gripping protagonist to drive the story forward in exciting ways.

While Yuji is far from the perfect protagonist, at the very least, fans can say that he has progressed greatly in the Final Arc of JJK, and become very powerful. Yuji recently managed to open his domain against Sukuna, and this came on the back of him unlocking his cursed technique. As fans know, domain expansions are twofold. First, one needs to have great control over barrier techniques, which can be imbued with the innate technique of the user, creating a powerful domain expansion. Yuji was taught barrier techniques by none other than Kusakabe during the time-skip. Fans recently saw this being the focus of the story, and thanks to him, Yuji has now become an adept user of barrier techniques.

The next part is imbuing the innate technique within a domain, and for Yuji, this was made possible after he hit a powerful black flash against the King of Curses. This finally unlocked his potential and allowed him to access the Shrine technique. Later down the line, Yuji imbued the Shrine technique in his barrier, creating a powerful domain expansion and trapping Sukuna inside.

Fans Don't Know How Yuji Uses His Domain

Yuji opened his domain quite a few chapters ago, and much to the surprise of the fans, nothing about his domain expansion has been revealed so far. Yuji's domain expansion has been a big mystery to the fans, and in many ways, the way that the author handled this domain expansion has been underwhelming. When a character gets a power-up, the author should immediately focus on it to bring out its best and its worst and showcase what it is truly about. There was incredible buildup and momentum when Yuji opened his domain expansion, but, this momentum has since then fizzled out, and right now, fans are simply confused about what Yuji's domain even does, and what purpose it serves in the story at this point. Still, there are a few things that fans know about this domain, and a few others that still need some time to be explained.

The Basic Stat Boost

The very first thing that fans know Yuji's domain does is boost his basic stats. This doesn't come as a surprise to any fan, because that is how domain expansions work in general. Every domain expansion allows the user higher levels of stats, giving them a major buff across the board. Be it strength, speed, endurance, durability, or just about anything that one can think of, a domain expansion gives a massive boost in these areas. This makes sense, given that the domain is the personal space of a Jujutsu sorcerer, and on their home turf, they should be the strongest. Of course, this was evident in the last few chapters, where he overpowered Sukuna on more than one occasion inside his domain.

The Changing Sceneries Implies Something Unique About Yuji's Domain

Quite easily, one of the most confusing parts of Yuji's domain expansion is the changing scenery. Usually, domain expansions have a certain setting attached to them. For instance, when Jogo opened his domain against Gojo, fans could see a volcano, which suggested that his powers were pyrokinetic in nature. Similarly, Gojo's Unlimited Void was rather bizarre looking and had a space-like theme, which suggested that he was going to inundate his targets with something grand and beyond comprehension, rendering them completely immobile, and incapable of doing anything. Sukuna, meanwhile, has a domain that allows him to use the open air as his canvas, and paint out an incredibly powerful Shrine capable of assaulting and destroying absolutely everything in his path.

For Yuji, however, this domain expansion has proven to be quite confusing. Yuji's domain expansion is constantly changing scenery. Fans have seen Yuji jump from one place to another from his memories, and it is unclear as to how he's even doing this in the first place. Yuji has taken Sukuna all over Japan over the course of the last few chapters, from the south to the north, and this is rather confusing to many individuals. As to what this represents, fans do not know.

The most logical answer to this question would be that Yuji himself is going through his own memories, and that these scenes are a depiction of a state of mind. This means that once Yuji is finally ready to end the King of Curses, he is going to reach the true conclusion of his thoughts and then deliver a powerful sure hit technique.

The Sure Hit Effect

As always, the best part of a domain expansion is the sure hit technique that it comes with. Every domain expansion has an attack that works as a can't miss technique, and Yuji certainly has one as well. This is the part that the fans are most excited about, but, at the same time, it is something that they are yet to see. In fact, this sure hit has not even been teased in the story as of now, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what it is. Now, the author can make this something flashy and unexpected, or, it is going to be something predictable, like a bigger version of the Soul Dismantle that he has already used on many occasions. For now, fans don't know in which direction Yuji's domain expansion is going to go, but, what can be said is that in either case, it is going to get the job done against the King of Curses.

This is especially true because Nobara, a heavy hitter when it comes to soul damage, has joined the battle as well. Together, these two can make Sukuna cough up some fingers, which would then allow Megumi to join the battle as well. These three are then going to take down the King of Curses, with Yuji delivering a powerful sure-hit technique on him soon enough.
