To determine the hottest iPhone wallpapers of 2022, we did a little research. Going back through the site traffic, we found the most visited wallpaper websites within this year. As you will see below, it is a true top 10 wallpaper list. It doesn’t matter if the wallpaper post was actually created within 2022 or not. It is simply the raw list of most visited “wallpaper” posts on the site for the previous 12 months.
I was a little shocked by the results, actually. You will find that almost all of the top posts were Apple device wallpapers. And, most shocking, a post that is five years old is still cracking the Top 3 in 2022. But, there are certainly some classics in there.

With half a year of exposure, this WWDC wallpaper release stole some hearts this year. With its incredibly vibrant color range and swirling gradients, how can you not love it? I do like the iPhone 14 wallpapers that launched with the handsets on iOS 16 too.
7. Amazing iOS 16 Depth Effect wallpapers for iPhone
Personally, I’m flattered. When iOS 16 launched with the Depth Effect ability, I spent about 3-4 hours scouring for incredibly detailed photos that would take advantage of this setting. Using a template I made in Pixelmator Pro, I carefully cropped and tested almost 50 images to finally land on the compatible ones in this article. Thanks for making it a Top 10! They are also some of the only not-Apple wallpapers in this entire round up.
6. iOS 15 official wallpapers
Y’all love some stock Apple wallpapers. To be honest, I think these are the worst Apple wallpapers ever released. However, they are still cracking the Top 10 most visited wallpapers, so, the people have spoken. I’m the odd ball here.
5. iPhone XS marketing wallpaper
iPhone XS launched alongside the iPhone XR in 2018. The iPhone XS was the successor to the first iPhone will Face ID and full screen. A bit of a technicality, the most viewed version of the wallpaper was a leaked copy before the announcement. But in #5, you can find the link to the official version and the XR.
4. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 wallpapers
Tied in fourth place, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro wallpapers are still holding strong. Pictured above, the iPhone 12 wallpapers bring an incredible flash of color and circular gradients to your Home or Lock screens. The sheer number of colors in this wallpaper pack is incredible.

Originally posted in 2017 when the first all-screen iPhone X launched, this set of updated, photo quality wallpapers are an homage to the past. These are my favorite of the top 3!

No surprise the all new iPhone 14 advertising wallpapers were in the top 3 most visited wallpaper posts this year. Given iPhone 14 launched this fall, it is always the most hyped hardware release of the year. In a contrast to previous years, the iPhone 14 Pro wallpapers draw incredible attention to the new Dynamic Island. What may surprise you is our #1 wallpaper is from last year’s device!
1. iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro wallpapers
While iPhone 13 launched in 2021, it was still our most visited wallpaper article of the year! Naturally, visitors had all year to nab these Apple beauties, before the iPhone 14 launched in September of this year. This split, dual gradient images were an incredible touch, playing off the form factor colors of last year’s handsets.
