10 Craft Ideas To Do With Jungle Book Coloring Pages
The Jungle Book is a beloved tale that virtually all youngsters enjoy.
If your child has lots of coloring pages featuring these unique characters, put them to good use with these easy, inexpensive crafts.
1. Crafty Scenery
To make this surprisingly easy craft, give each youngster some empty bathroom tissue cardboard.
Then, spray paint an ordinary paper plate green, cut two slits in the top of one of the rolls, cut the plate in half, and slide the halves into the slits in a crisscross pattern to create a “tree.”
Set that roll aside, and have the youngster cut out Jungle Book characters from the finished pages–the more, the better–and glue them around other cardboard rolls.
Add wiggle eyes, pom-pom feet, pipe cleaner tails, or other embellishments, and place these cute animals around the tree for a true-to-life theater scene.
2. Monarch of the Jungle
If your youngster likes being a jungle King or Queen, use Jungle Book coloring pages to fashion a crown.
Have the child staple an ordinary strip of cardboard into a circle that fits his or her head.
It should be decorated around the sides and back with leaves cut from simple construction paper. Then, animals from the coloring pages can be used in the center.
The child can choose one main character or glue a collage of animals as the crown’s “jewel.”
3.3D Greeting Card
Start this surprisingly easy craft with green construction paper, adding ordinary cotton balls and brown pipe cleaners as clouds and tree branches and attaching them with krazy glue.
Then, when various characters are colored and cut out, glue them to the scene over small pieces of bubble wrap for a 3D effect.
Another piece of construction paper is perfect for a simple cover, on which the youngster can write a happy message for the card’s recipient!
4. Personalized Jungle Book
Nothing’s better than a personalized Jungle Book for fans of this great film. This easy craft starts with 4-5 pieces of colorful construction paper in any desired shade.
Have the youngster color and cut out his or her top favorite characters from the film and give each one a special page.
The child can then add text with a calligraphy pen or marker, such as a favorite quote from that character or simply why it made the top five!
Use a three-hole punch and yarn to connect the pages for a beautiful, permanent keepsake.
5. Make a Colorful Classroom Poster
For this engaging craft, have the youngsters draw trees, leaves, bushes, and any other jungle botanicals on a large sheet of craft paper.
Then, they can work together to come up with a scene to make with cutouts from the various Jungle Book coloring pages.
It doesn’t have to be complicated; the fun part is working together.
Once the scene is decided upon, the youngsters can use the cutouts to decorate the “jungle” for a colorful classroom poster!
6. Get Crafty With the Famous Python
Lots of youngsters find Kaa–that sinister, sly python–fascinating and fun, making him perfect for this craft.
Start by giving the youngsters ordinary, large paper plates to shape into spirals by cutting them inward in a circular fashion.
Then, when Kaa is colored, his head can be glued to the top of the spiral, and pieces from the snake’s body are used to decorate the remainder.
The end result is a surprisingly realistic Kaa character. Hang the spooky snake anywhere with a piece of yarn or string.
7. Easy Finger Puppets
It’s easy to make a collection of finger puppets from Jungle Book coloring pages.
Have the youngsters color all their favorite characters, glue them to cardboard, and cut them out.
At the bottom of each cutout, four holes should be created for the youngsters’ fingers.
Embellish the cutouts with felt, puffy paint, glitter, yarn, or craft gems, and when the children slip their fingers through the holes, their characters can run, dance, and jump!
8. Beware of Man-Cub
One of the best-loved scenes in The Jungle Book is the “Beware of Man-Cub” scene.
This craft centers on that and begins with having the youngsters trace and cut out a leaf from green construction paper.
It should be shaped so that it can be hung on a doorknob like a hotel “Do Not Disturb” sign. On one side, “Beware of Man-Cub” should be written in bright marker or puffy paint.
Decorate the other side with cutouts from the finished pages. The children can hang these adorable “Beware” signs on their bedroom doors!
9. Jungle Binoculars
This simple craft begins with two empty bathroom tissue cardboards painted green.
Using brown tape on the ends only, the two rolls should be taped together, making them look just like binoculars.
The rest of the cardboard can be decorated with cutouts from the finished Jungle Book pages.
Yarn or string should be used to create a lanyard so the youngsters can wear these fun “binoculars” around their necks.
10. Fun With Jungle Streamers
All that’s needed for this great classroom activity are green streamers and coloring pages.
Begin by simply hanging the streamers down the side of one wall. Use as many as necessary. These, of course, are “jungle vines.”
Let the youngsters have a ball decorating the vines with characters from the Jungle Book coloring pages.
